- My application for a research project to the Spanish National Research Plan (Programa Retos para la Sociedad) has been successful! This project will start shortly and its main goal is assessing, through a multidisciplinary approach, the sustainable management of declining European turtle dove populations in agroforestry areas. - Next 4th April, I will give a short talk introducing a round table discussion about present and future of hunting in Spain. More information here.
- New paper on worldwide rapid spread of the novel rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (GI.2/RHDV2/b) accepted for publication in Transboundary and Emerging Diseases (updated on March 2019)
- I have recently joined the Editorial Board of the scientific journal "Animals". I will serve as editor on the sections Ecology and Conservation, Wildlife, and Animals in Society and Policy (updated on March 2019).

- I attended the conference "Pathways: human dimensions of wildlife" in Goslar, Germany. I presented a talk about attitudes towards the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx in southern Spain (updated on September 2018).

- We start a research project on the situation of the Egyptian mongoose populations in Castilla-La Mancha, its ecologic relationships and the perception of the species by certain stakeholders. This project, funded by Castilla-La Mancha regional government and FEDER funds, is led by Pablo Ferreras and Miguel Delibes-Mateos from IREC and IESA, respectively. - Past 15th July 2016, I joined the University of Sevilla for the next 4 years. I wil be researching and teaching at the Department of Vegetal Biology and Ecology of the Faculty of Biology (Updated on 19th July 2016).

- Next September I will be leading a discussion forum about hunting and game management. This activity is organized within the "night of researchers", an initiative annually promoted by several Spanish research institutions that aim to bring sciencie closer to society. My discussion forum will be held in a typical courtyard in Córdoba (southern Spain), It will consist of a brief presentation of the current scienctific knowledge of the effect of hunting and its associated management on biodiversity, and a debate with participants about this topic (Updated on 19th July 2016).
